Terms of Service

Last updated: April 22, 2026

These terms govern your use of ClaimHour at claimhour.com and the ClaimHour desktop and mobile apps. By using the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

Not legal advice. ClaimHour is software that helps you track billable time. Nothing in the app or on this site is legal advice, and using ClaimHour does not create an attorney–client relationship between you and us. You remain responsible for your own compliance with your state bar's rules of professional conduct.

1. Who we are

ClaimHour is operated by the maintainer at hello@claimhour.com. These terms create a contract between you and us.

2. What you can do

Use ClaimHour to track and export your own billable time, within the limits of your chosen plan. You may not:

  • Use the service for illegal purposes or in ways that violate third-party rights.
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract source code beyond what the service exposes.
  • Use the service to compete with us by replicating the product.
  • Abuse rate limits or probe for vulnerabilities without permission (see Security below).
  • Share your account credentials with others (each team member gets their own seat).
  • Use ClaimHour to process protected health information (PHI) — it's not a HIPAA-covered tool.

3. Your content

You own the data you put into ClaimHour, including the time entries you generate. We have a limited license to process that data solely to provide the service. We do not train machine-learning models on your content. We do not share your content outside what's necessary to run the service.

4. Our service

We provide the service "as is" without warranties. We try hard to keep uptime high and bugs low, but we don't guarantee either. If the service has significant downtime (>0.5% in a month on paid plans), we'll credit your next bill.

5. Payments

  • Prices are shown on the pricing page in US dollars, excluding taxes.
  • We bill monthly in advance via Stripe.
  • Cancel any time — no refunds for the current month, but no future charges.
  • If a charge fails, we retry for 7 days; if it still fails, we pause your account.

6. Termination

You can cancel your account any time. We may terminate accounts that violate these terms, with 14 days' notice where practical. On termination we delete your data per our Privacy Policy.

7. Liability

Our liability to you for any claim arising from use of the service is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect damages (lost profits, business interruption, undercharged clients, etc.). These limits apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.

8. Security

If you find a security issue, report it to security@claimhour.com. We won't sue you for good-faith research. Please don't publicly disclose the issue until we've had a chance to fix it (typically 90 days).

9. Arbitration (opt-out window)

Disputes are resolved by binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, seat Delaware. You may opt out of arbitration by emailing hello@claimhour.com within 30 days of first accepting these terms. Class-action waivers do not apply in jurisdictions where unenforceable.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. For material changes (new fees, changes to how we use data), we'll notify you at least 14 days in advance. If you don't accept the new terms, cancel before they take effect.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. Where mandatory consumer-protection law of your state of residence applies, that law prevails to the extent required.
